Just a note to say thanks for the professional way you handled the bike hire deal. I am recovering from jet lag here in Scotland but trying to share my experiences with the family at the same time.
The BMW 650GS didn't skip a beat. It fired up first time every time and was the ideal one-up touring bike for NZ roads.
The run across the centre of the island from New Plymouth to Whakatane, via the lost highway, was a spectacular odessey. It was a full day but took me past the highlights of the Wangamomena forest, the blue expanse of Lake Taupo and the sulphur smells of Rotorua. From Whakatane I took a day's excursion east along the pacific Coast road - stunning scenery. The route back to Auckland was via Touranga and the Coromandel forest.
All in all, a really enjoyable round tour. . Thanks again, I'll be recommending you.
